PDPA Mental Health Week
This week is the PDPA Mental Health Week.
The PDPA’s second annual Mental Health & Wellbeing Week will take place from Monday 6 to Friday 10 December 2021.
The online initiative, aimed at players on the PDC circuit, is aimed at normalising discussions around mental health and wellbeing, and increasing awareness of the various support services offered by the PDPA to its members.
The week will feature daily content providing information about these services in collaboration with partners such as Thrive and Sporting Chance. There will also be an exclusive video interview with a PDPA member who has benefitted from these services following their own mental health struggles.
Other social media content will include advice on managing mental health, including wellbeing tips and how to access support.
PDPA Chief Executive Alan Warriner-Little said: “We had a really positive response to the inaugural Mental Health and Wellbeing last year and have decided to make it an annual thing.
“The week before the World Darts Championship is an ideal time for us to promote positive mental health and the services available to members, the majority of whom don’t have Ally Pally to look forward to.
“Anybody can suffer struggles at any time but at this time of year, especially in our sport, the likelihood of such problems is increased and we want to remind our members that we are always here for them.
