PDC Challenge Tours
Dave Evans wins the CTOoM after a tense final day in which Ritchie Edhouse would have taken top spot but lost in the final to Kevin Doets but both win Tour Cards with Evans a place at the Worlds.
Sunday’s Unicorn Challenge Tour Events concluded the 2020 season for the PDC’s second tier tour.
Todays events were the final day of a treble-header taking place at the Barnsley Metrodome, with the only other events earlier in the year, a total of 10 will have taken place. The PDC’s second-tier tour features players who did not win a Tour Card at Qualifying School, with each event offering £10,000 in prize money.
Ritchie Edhouse was the comeback kid as he took event 9 with a 5-4 win over Scott Taylor from 0-3 down in that final and earlier in the event he was 0-4 down and faced a whitewash only to win 5-4 over Chris Quantock.
With all top places still available going into the final event, Evans lost early so had to wait out and watch the proceedings, Ritchie Edhouse needed to win the event to knock him off the top spot and a place in the Worlds. But he fell at the final hurdle in a 3-5 loss to Kevin Doets and Evans will make his debut at Alexandra Palace by winning the CTOoM.
