JDC Event 3
Keelan Kay wins the 3rd JDC Tour Event with a final leg shootout in Worcester.
The third Modus UK tour event of 2017 served up an exceptionally high standard in Worcester on Saturday providing a deciding leg shoot out in the final. Junior players from around the UK were battling it out for a place in the World playoff finals in Bristol this December and gaining valuable ranking points for the JDC’S OOM system.
The eventual winner Keelan Kay from Plymouth managed to avoid Board 1 which contained 3 previous tour winners, Owen maiden , Jarred Cole and James Beeton. With the draw opening up for Kay in his half, he took his chances making the Final dropping only four legs of darts.
Jarred Cole from Hertfordshire prevailed out of the toughest part of the draw to meet Keelan in the final, hoping to secure another tour victory. However in the final Kay was sublime, hitting great finishes, scoring 180’s and looking pretty secure. Cole did mount a comeback in the final drawing on his experience in his 4th JDC final, to level at 4-4, however with the darts in the last deciding leg Kay finished the job.
After the match Kay & Cole who have met on many occasions were genuinely delighted for each other. Cole mounting up the ranking points and Kay with his first win, now qualifies outright for the JDC’S World finals in December.
