Hardship Fund Full Details and Application forms sent out
The PDPA releases details of the ‘Hardship Fund’
The PDPA and PDC continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation and its impact on our ProTour players, following the May/June event postponements, a further fund has been made available.
Upon entering this uncertain period, the PDPA took immediate action in April to lessen the financial impact on our ProTour Members by making available a £1,000 Emergency Fund for any Tour Card Holder in immediate financial hardship. We reiterate that this Emergency Fund payment does not require repayment, and is paid for by your association.
We remain fully committed to assisting our players and have now completed a budgetary review to make further funds available via a second phase of financial support; the PDPA/PDC Covid-19 Hardship Fund.
The aim of this initiative is to put much-needed funds in the bank accounts of players who are genuinely struggling financially due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike the PDPA Emergency Fund, which was a one-off grant, Hardship Fund payments will be repaid to the PDPA from future earnings as agreed by both parties.
PDPA/PDC Covid-19 Hardship Fund
- An interest free advance of up to £2,000 per player for the May/June period against future PDC earnings
- Paid by the PDPA in two monthly instalments of up to £1,000 per month in May, and in June
- Applications open on 1 May 2020 and must be received by the required deadline
- Players may apply for one or both payments.
Players can apply for one or both payments. The June payment remains available to players who do not apply for the May payment. Each application will be dealt with in confidence and on an individual basis.
Details of how to apply and the full details of the fund will be sent to each of our Tour Card Holders on the 1st May
It is hoped that this continued support goes some way to confirming the PDPA’s commitment to our Members.
