World Youth Championship L96

The International Qualifiers for the 2019 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship have been confirmed.

Following a series of qualifying events worldwide, 23 players have booked their place in the World Youth Championship where they will be joined by 71 players from the PDC Unicorn Development Tour Order of Merit and Max Hopp and Jeffrey de Zwaan, who qualify through their places in the top 32 on the main PDC Order of Merit.

The World Youth Championship is played over the best of 11 legs from the knock-out stage with group matches the best of nine legs. The group stage will consist of three players per group who will play each other once with two points awarded per win.

In the event of a tie on points within the groups, players will be separated by their head-to-head result, or in the case of a three-way tie on leg difference, first head-to-head results and, if needed a three-way nine-dart shoot-out will be played.

The World Youth Championship Last 96 will include 32 seeds, being any player who has qualified for the Event by virtue of their main Order of Merit position seeded in main Order of Merit order and then the top (up to) 32 ranked participating players from the final 2019 Development Tour Order of Merit, and will play down to a final.

The final will then be scheduled during the 2019 Players Championship Finals.

Format:

  • Group Stages: Best of 9 legs
  • Knockout Stages: Best of 11 legs

Seeds:

32 Seeds as based on the final DTOoM Table and any age qualifying top 32 in PDC OoM.

*71 players from the final 2019 PDC Unicorn Development Tour Order of Merit

Registration: 09.00am - 11.00am (You need to register prior to 11.00am)
Draw: 11.00am
Start: 30 mins after the draw is announced.
Conclude by 4.00pm

  • The finalists of the 2019 World Youth Championship receive a one-year invitation to the 2020 Grand Slam of Darts subject to the entry criteria as stated in rule 3.1 of this document.
  • The winner of the 2019 World Youth Championship receives an invitation to the 2019/20 World Championship.

NOTE: if any of the players who achieve the above otherwise qualify for the 2019 Grand Slam of Darts or 2019/20 World Championship, or reject their invitations, no further places shall be offered.

Driving Directions:

From the South: Leave the M6 at J25, turn left at the roundabout onto the A49 towards Wigan. Continue straight over a roundabout a subsequent sets of traffic lights until you reach a large junction called ‘Saddle Junction’. You will see ASDA in front of you, turn left so that you keep ASDA on your right and there will be a fire station on your left (Robin Park Road). At the traffic lights turn right into Loire Drive, follow this road straight across a mini roundabout and round to the back of the shops. The Sports Centre will be on your left and the Arena on your right

From the North: Leave the M6 at J26 turn right onto the A577 signed towards Wigan. Follow the road through 2 sets of traffic lights and arrive at Saddle Junction. Then follow directions above. There is ample free parking on site, please be aware that on match days parking can be more difficult and charges can apply, also on these days make sure you are in a correct parking area.

Train Stations:

Robin Park Tennis Centre is an approximate 3/4 minute drive from both Wigan Wallgate and Wigan North Western Railway Stations, £3/£4 in a Taxi, or a 10 minute walk.

Parking:

There is ample parking at Robin Park, NOTE: During match-days it will be very busy and charges will apply and be aware of the parking restrictions for disability parking especially in front of the venue.

Nearest Airports:

  • Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL / EGGP) is 25 miles from Wigan.
  • Manchester International Airport (MAN / EGCC) is 29 miles from Wigan
