Parking:

Please note that there are parking charges in operational at this venue, which is part of a larger leisure and shopping complex.

Registration on the day:

Players need to register daily in the venue by 09.30 GMT with play expected to start at 10.30 GMT. If you do not register by 09.30 you will not be included in the draw for that day.

  • 08.00 - Doors Open
  • 08.00 - 09.30 Registration
  • 09.30 - Registration closes, and the draw is made
  • Play Commences 30 minutes after draw is displayed in venue, no later than 10.30 GMT

Players need to make sure they register themselves with the PDC officials, the guests need to register with security in the foyer of the venue. It is your responsibility to ensure you have registered at the right place, failure to do so correctly could result in you being omitted from the draw that day.

Players’ Guests:

Players are allowed one guest for this event and need to provide their name to security on arrival. Players need to be aware that your guest is your responsibility and they need to dress and act appropriately. Guest access may need to be limited, subject to capacity.

PDPA Membership Forms:

Players will be required to complete their PDPA Membership Forms ASAP, to complete their membership. The forms will be sent to your email address your registered at Q-School ASAP after you have registered, if you have not received this please see Zoe Banks PDPA Secretary at the control desk in the venue.

Draw:

The draw will be made as soon as registration closes at 09.30 and will displayed inside the venue once completed. If you need to withdraw from the event at any time you must inform the Tournament Director Keith Bisby.

Please note there will be 2 rooms used so make sure you are aware of your board and when you are due to play.

Marking:

The PDC will endeavour to have all Boards will be covered by Volunteer Markers, in an instance where a Board is not covered this will become a ‘Self Mark’ board and will be marked by the loser of the previous game or in the case it is the First Game on the Board by the Last Player drawn on that Board. Failure to mark any ‘Self Mark’ Boards may result in the player been suspended for the next Q. School day, or if on the last day been referred to the DRA.

All games will be scored using the DartConnect scoring system, meaning all games will be marked on a Tablet.

Officials:

A PDC board official will be assigned to control a number of dartboards and will be your immediate point of contact with any queries.

The first games on each board will be announced at the start of the tournament but no further announcements of matches will be made, and it is your responsibility to be aware of when your game is due to be played. Failure to be ready to play when needed could result in disqualification.

Format:

All games will be the best of nine legs, 501 format with straight start and double to finish. Matches are played under PDC and Darts Regulation Authority rules.

Tour Cards:

The two daily “finalists” will receive a two-year PDC Tour Card for 2020/2021, and take no further part in remaining days of the 2020 Qualifying School.

All other players will be assigned points on the UK Qualifying School Order of Merit. A number of players from these rankings (exact number TBC, based on the ratio of UK/European Qualifying School entries) will also receive a Tour Card.

Players will receive one point per win from the first full round of play, with matches won, legs won and leg difference separating any ties. If players still cannot be split, a play-off would be organized (where applicable), Any results from  a preliminary round before the first round drawn without byes are disregarded for countback.

Players Behavior:

Players are reminded about their behavior and it is your own responsibility to behave in an acceptable manner. Players must not drink alcohol in the playing area, bottled water only is allowed (Not in glasses).

The Tournament Director has the power to stop a game and award the game to the opponent of any player whom the Tournament Director decides is behaving in a way which is damaging to the sport, the PDC, the PDPA, its sponsors or broadcasters.

Rules & Dress Code:

These events will be played under Darts Regulation Authority Rules, and in accordance with the PDC Order of Merit Rules, which are available at www.pdc.tv. The full DRA Rule Book is available at www.thedra.co.uk.Queries regarding individual attire should be addressed to the Tournament Director ahead of the event you are participating in.

With regards to footwear, DRA Rule 5.17.1 applies: Players are not permitted to wear jeans: Neither shall they wear trousers or skirts made with corduroy material, which has been fashioned in a "Jeans Style". No training shoes will be allowed unless the player provides written medical reasons from a qualified practitioner. The restriction shall apply to any form of "Tracksuit" attire. The final decision will rest with the Tournament Director. 

Alcoholic Drinks:

Players Please Note: Please be aware that no players or guests are allowed to bring alcoholic drinks into the venue for any of these events. All players and guests will be subject to a bag search by PDC Security before admission to the venue is granted. Only alcoholic drinks bought inside the venue are allowed to be consumed. If you have any alcohol in your bag you need to remove it prior to entering the arena, or you may be subject to a DRA referral.

Alcoholic drinks will only be sold and consumed within the gym area of the Leisure Centre (this also being the practice area and food area). No alcoholic drinks will be allowed to be taken out of this area. You may only take soft drinks, tea/coffee and bottled water out of this room. Within the main competition playing area there are to be no alcoholic drinks taken into this room. Both rooms in use will be strictly monitored and if you transgress this then you may be either:- eliminated from the existing tournament/the next days’ play/subject to a DRA Referral.

Smoking & Drinking:

Smoking is not permitted inside this venue. Smokers should use the designated smoking areas outside of the building.

Players are only permitted to drink water during a match. No other drinks can be consumed during a match; this includes having a drink from the table behind you whilst your opponent is throwing or between legs.

These rules will be strictly observed.

Any player under the age of 18 drinking alcohol will be immediately eliminated from the event, and will be seen to be bringing the game into disrepute. This also includes those over aged 18 seen to be supplying alcoholic drinks to players under 18.

Mobile Telephones & Internet Browsing Devices:

For the benefit of competing players and their guests, mobile phones must be turned onto silent before entering the playing area. You are allowed to use mobile phones within the playing area to text, message and browse the internet. The making or receiving of calls in the playing area is forbidden. This includes the bar area.

If you need to make a phone call you must leave the playing area/bar area. It is also forbidden for Players and/or their guests to take photographs within the playing area. Where a Player or Registered Agent fails to comply with this rule it will lead to a referral to the Darts Regulation Authority for possible disciplinary action. Guests who breach this rule may be asked to leave the Arena.

Driving Directions:

From the South: Leave the M6 at J25, turn left at the roundabout onto the A49 towards Wigan. Continue straight over a roundabout a subsequent sets of traffic lights until you reach a large junction called ‘Saddle Junction’. You will see ASDA in front of you, turn left so that you keep ASDA on your right and there will be a fire station on your left (Robin Park Road). At the traffic lights turn right into Loire Drive, follow this road straight across a mini roundabout and round to the back of the shops. The Sports Centre will be on your left and the Arena on your right

From the North: Leave the M6 at J26 turn right onto the A577 signed towards Wigan. Follow the road through 2 sets of traffic lights and arrive at Saddle Junction. Then follow directions above. There is ample free parking on site, please be aware that on match days parking can be more difficult and charges can apply, also on these days make sure you are in a correct parking area.

Train Stations:

Robin Park Tennis Centre is an approximate 3/4 minute drive from both Wigan Wallgate and Wigan North Western Railway Stations, £3/£4 in a Taxi, or a 10 minute walk.

Parking:

There is ample parking at Robin Park, NOTE: During match-days it will be very busy and charges will apply and be aware of the parking restrictions for disability parking especially in front of the venue.

Nearest Airports:

  • Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL / EGGP) is 25 miles from Wigan.
  • Manchester International Airport (MAN / EGCC) is 29 miles from Wigan

We have a shuttle bus for use to/from airports and to/from venue/hotel, there is a charge but cheaper and is obviously someone you can trust. To book any shuttles and for any information including prices please use contact information below. First come first served.
