Overview:
Please refer to your email sent direct to you.
- Requirement to provide a negative Covid-19 result before travelling to Germany
- Applicable to anyone who has been in a ‘risk area’ during the 14 days prior to your arrival date in Germany
- Test must not be older than 48 hours prior to arrival date in Germany
- Provide your test results to PDC Europe who will submit your results to the German authorities for you
The Details:
We are emailing you to make you aware that you may need to provide a negative Covid-19 test result to be able to enter Germany.
German Authorities require persons travelling from ‘risk areas’ to present a negative Covid-19 test result obtained 48 hours or less before their arrival in Germany. Risk areas can apply to whole countries or specific areas/provinces/regions with the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Belgium, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Croatia, Switzerland and many more already listed as risk areas.
Please use this information on the designation of international risk areas link to access the up to date information and lists.
The requirement to provide a negative test result is applicable to all persons who have been in a risk area within the 14 days prior to your arrival date in Germany.
The Federal Government examines, on an ongoing basis, the extent to which areas are to be classified as risk areas and as a result the list can be modified at short notice and, above all, may be extended to include other countries/areas/provinces/regions meaning that players who are not in a risk area currently, may find their area is added to the list and should consider taking a test as a preparatory measure.
The test may not be older than 48 hours (for example, if you plan to arrive on Thursday, you must take the test on Tuesday) and must be forwarded to the relevant authority for approval. The authorities work on Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 08:00-12:00 and Tuesday, Thursday: 08:00-18:00. If the results are not submitted in time, a release cannot take place.
PDC Europe have agreed with the authorities in Sindelfingen that not everyone has to send their results individually, but that they can send them to Gabi Brock at PDC Europe and she will take care of the release at the authorities. Please send your test result to Gabi.Brock@PDC-Europe.tv before your departure.
UK Testing:
UK based players, if you are unable to obtain a NHS test slot, the PDC has arranged private testing between 10am – 1pm on Wednesday 13 October at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. The cost is £110 and will deducted from your prize money. If you would like to book an appointment at the Ricoh please email Hayley Upward at the PDC hayley.upward@pdc.tv This is an option for you, otherwise you will need to arrange your own test.
Please appreciate that this is an ever-changing situation and information is correct at time of sending and any updates, if applicable, will be sent as soon as known.
