PDC Unicorn Development Tour 9-12 Event Brief
The 2nd weekend tour events of 2020 will be from Robin Park in Wigan over the weekend of 2nd/3rd May 2020. All Development Tour players must be PDPA members in 2020 SEE FURTHER DOWN.
In 2020 there are 5 weekends of events with 4 events over each weekend (2 each day) the World Youth Championship Last 96 will be played following the final Development Tour of 2020.
The PDC Unicorn Development Tour will enable players aged from 16-23 to compete, with each weekend featuring four tournaments worth £10,000 a each. Players can compete from the day that they turn 16, with an upper limit of players needing to be aged 23 or under on January 2nd 2020 (i.e. Following the World Championship 2019/20) So if you are not 24 on the 2nd January 2020 you are eligible.
There is a total amount of £200,000 on offer at the PDC Unicorn Development Tour, with a further £50,000 on offer at The Unicorn World Youth Championship 2020 making a Total £250,000.
The top ranked players on the final Development Tour Table will qualify for the World Youth Championship along with invited World Qualifiers for the £10,000 top prize. The final will be played LIVE on ITV4 during the Players Championship Finals in Minehead.

Entry is open to ANY darts player, other than players inside the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit as of the 2nd January 2020, if they move into the top 32 during the season that they are still eligible.
PLAYERS WHO ALREADY HAVE A SPORT RADAR ACCOUNT:

NEW PLAYERS:
Would need to first register their details with the PDC Online Entry System CLICK HERE (This is a draft form for any player registering for sport radar) before entering. You will then receive your servasport log on details to enter. You will need to retain the same Username and Password details for entries throughout the year so please note these down!
- Entry costs £25 per event, with £10,000 per event available in prize money.
- Games in Development Tour events are the best of 7 legs up to the Quarter-Finals.
- Games from the Quarter-Finals will be best of 9 legs.
- There are two events per day being held across 32 boards
BOTH EVENTS WILL BE STAGED ON THE DAY AS FOLLOWS:
8.00am - Doors Open
8.00am / 9.30am – Registration for the day’s first event. Players entered into both events will be registered for both events on arrival.
9.30am - Registration closes and Draw Done
30 Minutes after the draw is announced the event will start
Before 12.30pm – Players competing only in the day’s second event must register by this time. The start of the second event, to begin as soon as possible after the first event ends.
REGISTRATION & START:
Players must register at the PDC Registration desk before 09.30hrs on the day at the latest, It is the players responsibility to make sure your name is crossed off and registered, and not just to walk past and expect it to be, the draw and schedule of play will then take place and games will commence 30 minutes later.
The draw will be available on the TV screens in the venue, with an A-Z of player's names and drawn board, and via Dart Connect. You must be at your board when your game is due, or you may risk disqualification.
Please keep your eye on the board and when you are due to play. The PDC reserves the right to amend the schedule of play if necessary; any amendments will be posted on the website and in the venue.
REGISTERING GUESTS AT VENUE:
Players will only be allocated TWO NON-TRANSFERABLE bona-fide guest each at the Development Tour, and they must provide their names and days attending to the security desk on arrival.
Please note that no one wearing football shirts or shorts of any kind are allowed. Tracksuit bottoms or joggers will be at the discretion of staff if you have a valid reason i.e. a medical issue etc (A medical certificate may be required) No children under 11 years old will be admitted. ID for proof of age may be required. Players need to note that their guests are their responsibility, and they need to make sure that they dress and act appropriately.
PLAYING FORMAT:
The format is best of 7 legs, up to the Quarter-Finals when it will be best of 9 legs; the player on the left of the draw will throw first for the bull to determine who throws first in odd-numbered legs.

Is paid by BACS to the account you have provided details for on the PDC Bank Details Form. If you have not provided your details please email the PDPA info@pdpa.co.uk or the PDC Accounts Department aimie.hogg@matchroom.com and ask for a form. These forms will also be available at the event and MUST BE SIGNED BY THE PLAYER
PLAYERS BEHAVIOUR:
Players are reminded about their behaviour and it is your own responsibility to behave in an acceptable manner. Players must not drink alcohol in the playing area, bottled water only is allowed (Not in Glasses) The tournament director has the power to stop a game and award the game to the opponent of any player whom the tournament director decides is behaving in a way which is damaging to the sport, the PDC, the PDPA, its sponsors or broadcasters.
RULES & DRESS CODE:
These events will be played under Darts Regulation Authority Rules, and in accordance with the PDC Order of Merit rules which are available at www.pdc.tv The full DRA Rule Book is available at www.thedra.co.uk Queries regarding individual attire should be addressed to the ProTour Manager ahead of the event you are participating in.
With regards to footwear, the DRA rule 5.17.1 applies: Players are not permitted to wear jeans: Neither shall they wear trousers or skirts made with courdroy material which has been fashioned in a "Jeans Style". No training shoes will be allowed unless the player provides written medical reasons from a qualified practitioner. The restriction shall apply to any form of "Track Suit" attire. The final decision will rest with the Tournament Director.
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS:
Players Please Note: Please be aware that no players or guests are allowed to bring alcoholic drinks into the venue FULL STOP for any of these events. All players and guests will be subject to a bag search by PDC Security before admission to the venue is granted. Only alcoholic drinks bought inside the venue are allowed to be consumed. If you have any alcohol in your bag you need to remove it prior to entering the arena, or you may be subject to a DRA referral.
SMOKING & DRINKING:
Under UK Law, smoking is not permitted inside this venue. Smokers should use the designated smoking areas outside of the building. Players are only permitted to drink water during a match. No other drinks can be consumed during a match; this includes having a drink from the table behind you whilst your opponent is throwing or between legs. This rule will be strictly observed.
Any player under the age of 18 drinking alcohol will be immediately eliminated from the event, and will be seen to be bringing the game into disrepute. This also includes those over 18s seen to be supplying alcoholic drinks to players under 18.
Players are not allowed to drink any alcohol during play, this includes a break of play i.e. toilet break etc or you will be disqualified and refered to the DRA. Only bottled water is allowed to be consumed during play.
INTERNET BROWSING/PHONES:
For the benefit of competing players and their guests, mobile phones must be turned onto silent before entering the playing area. You are allowed to use mobile phones within the playing area to text, message and browse the internet. The making or receiving of calls in the playing area is forbidden. This includes the bar area.
If you need to make a phone call you must leave the playing area and go outside the venue. It is also forbidden for Players and/or their guests to take photographs or videos within the playing area. Where a Player or Registered Agent fails to comply with this rule it will lead to a referral to the Darts Regulation Authority for possible disciplinary action. Guests who breach this rule will be asked to leave the Arena.
Please note that Players are responsible for their guests at all time when they are attending an event.

Driving Directions:
From the South: Leave the M6 at J25, turn left at the roundabout onto the A49 towards Wigan. Continue straight over a roundabout a subsequent sets of traffic lights until you reach a large junction called ‘Saddle Junction’. You will see ASDA in front of you, turn left so that you keep ASDA on your right and there will be a fire station on your left (Robin Park Road). At the traffic lights turn right into Loire Drive, follow this road straight across a mini roundabout and round to the back of the shops. The Sports Centre will be on your left and the Arena on your right
From the North: Leave the M6 at J26 turn right onto the A577 signed towards Wigan. Follow the road through 2 sets of traffic lights and arrive at Saddle Junction. Then follow directions above. There is ample free parking on site, please be aware that on match days parking can be more difficult and charges can apply, also on these days make sure you are in a correct parking area.
Train Stations:
Robin Park Tennis Centre is an approximate 3/4 minute drive from both Wigan Wallgate and Wigan North Western Railway Stations, £3/£4 in a Taxi, or a 10 minute walk.
