PDC Unicorn Development Tour 1-4 Event Brief
The first tour events of 2020 will be from Hildesheim in Germany over the weekend of the 29th February and the 1st March 2020. All Development Tour players must be PDPA members in 2020 SEE FURTHER DOWN.
DEVELOPMENT TOUR & INFO AREA:
DEVELOPMENT TOUR MEMBERSHIP 2020:
All Development Tour players will be required to be a PDPA Junior Member, this will just be a junior membership and you will not be required to play at Q-School, it will be a FREE Junior Membership, details will be sent to all Development Tour Players, or at the event. From 2020, the PDPA requires all players on the Development Tour to be registered as PDPA Members
Players who did not participate in Q-School 2020 or do not have a PDC Tour Card: Players entered into the Development Tours who are not yet Members of the PDPA will receive an email in the coming days from NoReply@pdpa.co.uk which will include a link to the PDPA’s Membership Information System. You are REQUIRED to complete or correct your details on the online form that the link in the email will direct you to. You will than have PDPA Junior Membership for the Development Tours in 2020.
Players who are already PDPA Associate or Full Members: If you participated at either of the 2020 Q-Schools or you have a PDC Tour Card, you will have already received the email asking you to complete your online form for PDPA Membership
- - Players who have already completed their details will not be sent the email again and do not need to do anything further.
- - Players who have not yet responded to the email from NoReply@pdpa.co.uk will receive it again in the coming days and are REQUIRED to complete or correct the details held for you on the PDPA’s Membership Information System. Simply click the link, complete the details and any corrections and submit it back to us.

ENTRY:
Entry is open to ANY darts player, other than players inside the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit as of the 2nd January 2020, if they move into the top 32 during the season they are still eligible.
PLAYERS WHO ALREADY HAVE A SPORT RADAR ACCOUNT:
Would enter as normal through the PDC Online Entry System CLICK HERE
NEW PLAYERS:
Would need to first register their details with the PDC Online Entry System CLICK HERE (This is a draft form for any player registering for sport radar) before entering. You will then receive your servasport log on details to enter. You will need to retain the same Username and Password details for entries throughout the year so please note these down!
- Entry costs £25 per event, with £10,000 per event available in prize money.
- Games in Development Tour events are the best of 7 legs up to the Quarter-Finals.
- Games from the Quarter-Finals will be best of 9 legs.
- There are two events per day being held across 32 boards

Development Tour Events 1 & 2
Register: 0900-1030 CET. Anybody not registered by 1030 CET will be omitted from Event 1
Start Time: 30 minutes after the draw has been displayed in the venue.
Please Note: All players from Event 1 who have entered Event 2 will automatically be registered for Event 2 when they register for Event 1. Event 2 will start as soon as possible following the conclusion of Event 1. If you have only entered Event 2, please register at the venue before 1330 CET.
Sunday March 1st
Development Tour Events 3 & 4
Register: 0900-1030 CET. Anybody not registered by 1030 CET will be omitted from Event 3.
Start Time: 30 minutes after the draw has been displayed in the venue.
Please Note: All players from Event 3 who have entered Event 4 will automatically be registered for Event 4 when they register for Event 3. Event 4 will start as soon as possible following the conclusion of Event 3. If you have only entered Event 4, please register at the venue before 1330 CET.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL PLAYERS
UPON REGISTRATION PLAYERS MAY BE ASKED TO PROVIDE PHOTO ID WHICH CLEARLY CLARIFIES THEIR DATE OF BIRTH (E.G. PASSPORT, STUDENT CARD, DRIVING LICENCE). ANY PLAYER WHO FAILS TO PRODUCE THIS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY IN THE EVENT.
ALL PLAYERS WILL BE REQUESTED TO PROVIDE THIS FOR THEIR FIRST EVENT ON THE 2020 PDC UNICORN DEVELOPMENT TOUR - YOU WILL ONLY BE REQUESTED TO DO THIS ONCE AT THE FIRST DEVELOPMENT TOUR EVENT YOU PLAY IN.
Players’ Guests
Players will be allowed two bona-fide guests at each event, guests names to be given to Security at Registration. Please note that no-one wearing football shirts, or children under 11 years old will be admitted.
Parents or guardians who have children who look under 11 will be asked to show proof of their age before being allowed entry to the playing area, there will no exceptions to this rule
Prize Fund
Each tournament has a prize fund of £10,000 split as follows:
Winner: £2,000
Runner-Up: £1,000
Semi-Finalists: £500
Quarter-Finalists: £300
Last 16: £200
Last 32: £100
Last 64: £50
All prize money will be paid by the PDCE Tournament Director Carsten Arlt in cash and in Euros. The PDPA levy of 2% will be taken from the prize money before this is paid. You must sign for the prize money unless you will not receive it.
Playing Format
The format is best of seven legs up to the last eight, and then best of nine legs for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. This event will have an open draw and no seeded players. The draws will be made by the PDC’s Tournament Director following the deadline for registration for each event and displayed on the large screens at the venue.
IT IS THE PLAYERS’ RESPONSIBILITY TO BE AT THEIR BOARD AT THE CORRECT TIME - THERE WILL BE NO CALLS FOR PLAYERS AND ANY PLAYER NOT AT THE BOARD TO PLAY THEIR MATCHES WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION AND WILL NOT BE ENTITLED TO ANY REFUNDS OR COMPENSATION FOR ANY EXPENSE INCURRED IN ENTRY FEES, TRAVEL OR ACCOMMODATION.
Marking
These events will operate on a ‘loser marks’ basis. Additionally, the first game on each board will be marked by the last player drawn onto that board. All players who do not mark are subject to disciplinary action, and could be eliminated from the event or be denied entry to future events.
PLEASE NOTE
We will be using the DartConnect scoring system, meaning all games will be marked on a Tablet. Players can view the DartConnect scoring system via www.dartconnect.com, and should you want to trial this in advance a free trial can be arranged via the PDPA.
SHOULD ANY PLAYER BE UNABLE TO MARK FOR ANY GENUINE REASON THEN IT IS THAT PLAYERS’ RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND SOMEONE TO MARK FOR THEM BEFORE THEY PLAY THEIR GAME IN ORDER THAT THE PERSON CHOSEN IS READY TO MARK IN PLACE OF THE DEFEATED PLAYER.
ANY PERSON CHOSEN TO BE THE SUBSTITUTE MARKER MUST BE PROPERLY DRESSED AS PER THE TOURNAMENT RULES IE. NO JEANS, TRAINERS OR UNCOLLARED SHIRTS. THE PDC TAKES THE ISSUE OF MARKING VERY SERIOUSLY AND ANY PLAYER NOT CARRYING OUT THEIR DUTY IN THE MANNER DESCRIBED ABOVE WILL NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER APPLICATIONS TO ANY PDC EVENT ENTERTAINED.
Rules & Dress Code (all above events)
These events will be played under Darts Regulation Authority Rules, and in accordance with the PDC Order of Merit rules which are available at www.pdc.tv. The full DRA Rule Book is available at www.thedra.co.uk.
Players are referred to DRA Rule 5.17 in relation to Playing Attire for tournaments, with trousers, shoes and a collared shirt/polo shirt required. Queries regarding individual attire should be addressed to the ProTour Manager ahead of the event you are participating in.
Mobile Telephones
For the benefit of competing players and their guests, mobile phones must be turned onto silent before entering the playing area. You are allowed to use mobile phones within the playing area to text, message and browse the internet. The making or receiving of calls in the playing area is forbidden. This includes the bar area. If you need to make a phone call you must leave the playing area/bar area. It is also forbidden for Players and/or their guests to take photographs within the playing area. Where a Player or Registered Agent fails to comply with this rule it will lead to a referral to the Darts Regulation Authority for possible disciplinary action. Guests who breach this rule may be asked to leave the Arena.
Please note that Players are responsible for their guests at all time when they are attending an event.
Alcoholic/Soft Drinks/Water Drinks & Food – Important Notice
Please be aware that no players or guests are allowed to bring any drinks/food into the venue for any of these events.
All players and guests will be subject to a bag search by PDC Europe Security before admission to the venue is granted.
Only alcoholic/soft drinks/water or food bought inside the venue are allowed to be consumed.
Alcoholic drinks will ONLY BE ALLOWED to be consumed in the Bar Area. Any player under the age of 18 drinking alcohol will be immediately eliminated from the event and will be seen to be bringing the game into disrepute. This also applies to those over 18 seen to be supplying alcoholic drinks to players under 18.
Smoking & Drinking
Players are not permitted to smoke inside the venue - this includes the use of E-Cigarettes, and a designated smoking area is provided. Players are not permitted to drink anything but bottled water during play. This includes having a drink of anything but water from the table behind you whilst your opponent is throwing or between legs. This rule will be strictly observed.
