How to become a member of the PDPA
PDPA membership is valid for a whole season or calendar year i.e. January – December of that year
The cut off date for all membership applications is Wednesday 18th January 2012 at ’12.00 noon’ for Tour Card Holders & Q-School entries.
You can only be a PDPA member if you are:
(a) an honorary member or a PDPA Director:
(b) invited to play on the PDC Pro-Tour in 2012: Top 64 in PDC OoM 2011 after the World Championships i.e. 3-1-12 + other invites and the 2011 Q-School 2 year Tour Card Qualifiers.
(c) entered into the 2012 PDC Q-School
(d) or are a Non-UK based player, therefore they can join as an associate member by paying the full PDPA membership of £400
ALSO
If you qualify for any PDC TV event (Not UK Open/PDC World Cup/GSOD) in a qualifier or as a day member, you are then required to be an associate PDPA member prior to play. i.e. £400 membership is required prior to the commencement of the event or a prize money deduction form completed
Once Q-School has concluded in January 2012, no further PDPA memberships will be taken until the 2013 season, unless as a non-member you qualify for a PDC TV event (See Above)
The PDPA reserves the right to change or alter these rules at any time, in consultation with the PDC
For Associate Membership, you are required to have played at the Q-School; Entry alone does not determine Associate Membership. If you enter the Q-School but do not play you will forfeit your entry fee, unless a medical certificate can be issued and a refund will be issued.
If you play at least once you will be classed as an Associate Member.
If you join the PDPA during the season by virtue of qualifying for a PDC TV event (Not UK Open/PDC World Cup/GSOD) you will also be classed as an associate member, but QSOoM players will take preference in UK Players Championship entry.
If you turn down a tour card, your membership will not be terminated but you will be unable to play in any UK Pro-Tour events unless otherwise determined by the PDPA & the PDC. You can next play in the 2013 PDC Q-School, unless you are still in the top 64 in the OoM in 2013 and are invited again for a Tour Card.
Types of PDPA Membership
Full PDPA Membership:
Is players who have a PDC Tour Card in 2012 i.e. you are one of the 64 OoM invites at the conclusion of the 2011 events i.e. 3-1-12, or any other PDC invitations or you have qualified from the PDC Q-School in 2011 & 2012, You will be entitled to full voting rights after a full 2 years membership and use of all PDPA benefits and partners deals.
Full PDPA Membership is also given to Non-Playing Full Members i.e. Honorary or Directors, As an honorary member you can play in any PDC qualifier i.e. UK Open Regional or World Championship qualifier but you must have registered firstly for the PDC Q-School (Play not required) and an up to date PDC playing contract for eligibility, full voting rights and PDPA benefits and partners. To play on the PDC Pro-Tour you would firstly have to qualify through Q-School, then have an up to date PDC playing contract
Associate Membership:
Any player who enters the Q-School, but does not gain an automatic place on the tour will remain on the QSOoM (Q-School Order of Merit Table) and will be eligible when deficits appear to play at UK Players Championship events in order of their QSOoM ranking, but these players must enter prior to the pre-determined entry deadline date. Associate members are also eligible to play in UK Open Regional’s, Non UK Players Championships and the PDPA World Championships qualifier. Non-UK members who are not tour card holders also fall into this cetegory.
*Note*For Non-UK events you can enter, but you may be subject to go through the local qualifying system, dependant on entries.
Any player who joins the PDPA during the season due to qualifying for a PDC TV event will also be classed as an Associate Member, QSOoM players will take precedence in UK Players Championship entries, and any Non-UK based player who joins the PDPA at the start of the season prior to the deadline can pay the full membership of £400 and remain as an associate member.
Day Membership;
Non Members can play as day members with the payment of a PDPA supplement as part of their entry fee. (Some Restrictions Apply) only at Non-UK Players Championships SEE PDC RULES
Age Restriction
Applicants must be aged 18 or over: Applicants aged 16-18 will only be accepted subject to any licensing law restrictions in certain venues and events. Parental consent will also be required. SEE CONSTITUTION
Fees
Honorary Member: No annual fee, however a current PDC playing contract must be signed to play in any PDC event.
Full Member: Fee of £400 to be paid by 18th January 2012 at 12.00hrs(noon)
Note: Failure to make payment may terminate your membership. Non-Members who have qualified for the 2011/2012 PDC World Championship must sign a declaration form to deduct your membership fee from your prize money – this is required prior to playing in this event. The fee will entitle you to membership until 31st December the following season.
You are a Full PDPA Member if you are invited onto the PDC Pro-Tour i.e. you are in the Top 64 on the PDC Order of Merit as of the cut off date (Following the conclusion of all 2011 events i.e. 3-1-12), and you fullfill the criteria OR you qualify via the PDC Q-School.
Associate Member: Fee £200 (Q-School Entry Fee) You are an associate member if you did not qualify for the pro-tour but played in the Q-School and are on the QSOoM (Q-School Order of Merit Table). Also for players who join during the season, or Non-UK Based members without a Tour Card Fee £400 Full Associate Member
Day Membership: Day membership is only available in events outside the UK, your fee as a day member is your entry fee paid to enter the event either via the qualifiers or the main draw to your local organiser. Entry into events as a Day Member constitutes acceptance of all PDC and DRA rules.
From 2012 all day members will receive PDPA/PDC information relating to their day membership prior to play.
Deadlines
Membership Entry deadlines are as follows:
All memberships are required by 18th January 2012 at 2pm. If you qualify from Q-School to the main tour, you will have 7 days to register your full membership i.e. 2pm 26th January 2012 or your place will be offered to another player from the Q School merit table.
Termination of PDPA Membership
Any PDPA member can terminate their membership IN WRITING ONLY to the PDPA at any point during the season/year, but must be aware that restrictions may apply. i.e. they would be unable to play in any further PDC events that season.
Other Restrictions;
1/If your membership is terminated or you resign at any point during the year/season you would only be eligible to play in the next PDC ‘Q’ School in 2013.
2/You would be restricted to only playing in the UK Open amateur qualifiers only after a period of 2 years from termination of your membership.
3/You cannot enter a Non-UK event as a day member for a period of 12 Months from the date of your membership termination, but you are eligable to play in your own Countries World Championship qualifier only if your membership was terminated before the Q School commenced.
PDC Q-School
If you want to enter the PDC Q-School in 2012, here is what you need to do;
Entry Fee for the PDC Q-School is £200, if you qualify for the pro-tour you are required to pay the full PDPA membership i.e. a further £200 (£400 in Total). This is required to be paid in full within 7 days of the Q-School commencing i.e. 26th January 2012 or before the first PDC event of 2012 or you will be ineligible to play and your tour card could be made void.
If you do not qualify for the pro-tour via Q-School, you will be added to the QSOoM and can be invited to play in players championships if there is a shortfall of entries (No Further PDPA Fees Required/Just Entry)
Open draw every day.
To Enter The PDC Q-School, do the following:
1-Enter the Q-School below via the PayPal button before 18th January 2012
2-Download, print off and complete the PDPA Q-School Membership Application Form
3-Also Download and print off the PDPA Constitution, the PDPA Code of Conduct and the DRA sanction form.
Download all 4 forms, fill in fully or sign and send back to;
The PDPA, Unit 34, Carlisle Enterprise Centre, James Street, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA2 5BB, UK
Once all these forms and your entry fee have been received by the PDPA, you will be notified by the PDPA of your Associate Membership and given your PDPA Website Log In details. You will then be eligable to play in the PDC Q-School.
We will also inform the PDC of your membership, they may send you a PDC playing contract in the post or ask you prior to playing at the Q-School. Once this has been done, the PDC will enter your details onto the Servasport System (PDC online booking system), to enable you to then enter any further PDC events.
The DRA will also be informed of your membership.
