GARY ANDERSON 8-2 ANDY HAMILTON REIGNING McCoy’s Premier League Darts champion Gary Anderson picked up his first victory of the 2012 season with an 8-2 defeat of Andy Hamilton at the AECC in Aberdeen.

The Scot had been under-par when he lost to Kevin Painter on the opening night of the season a week ago, but bounced back with a clinical defeat of the World Championship finalist. Anderson led 4-0 before Hamilton hit back to win the next two, but the home favourite took another quartet of legs to secure the points.

-0 Anderson doubles his lead on tops to break throw.

-0 The Scot delights his home crowd with a 180 on his way to a third successive leg.

-0 Hamilton hits a 180 but crucially misses two darts at tops, allowing Anderson in on 128 as the reigning champion takes out the combination on double 16 to break again for a four-leg lead.

-1 Hamilton hits another maximum, and after missing seven doubles he returns to punish three missed doubles from Anderson to land double one and get off the mark.

-2 Double 16 gives Hamilton a second leg as he halves the deficit.

-2 Hamilton misses double 16 for a 104 finish, and Anderson posts tops to move three legs clear once more.

-2 Double 18 moves Anderson to the brink of claiming his first point of the season.

-2 Hamilton’s doubling nightmare continues, as he misses the bull for a 170 checkout and two darts at double eight before Anderson hits double ten to seal at least a point.

-2 Anderson seals victory with a brilliant 11-darter, with both players opening with 180s before Hamilton hits a second to leave 61 only to see the Scot finish 81 in two darts for the win.
