‘Mighty Mike’ Michael van Gerwen wins the Crawley UK Open with a fantastic 6-1 win in the Final against Dave Chisnall including a 9 Darter and a 170 Finish.

This the second UK Open Qualifier of the weekend saw over 190 PDPA Members compete for the coverted prize and Merit Table money to Qualify for the UK Open Finals at the Reebok, Bolton live on SKY Sports in June.

van Gerwen beat 2 Premier League stars Simon Whitlock 6-0 in the Semi-Finals and Andy Hamilton 6-2 in the Quarter Finals.

St Helens Chisnall who now resides in Morecambe had earlier beaten Northern Irelands Micky Mansell 6-4 in the Last 16 and Dutchman Roland Scholten 6-1 in the Quarters to move into the Semi-Finals where he beat another Dutch Maestro Vincent van der Voort 6-3.

Q School qualifier Johnny Haines enjoyed a great run to the Quarter Finals, beating Mathew Edgar 6-3 in the Last 16, Dean Winstanley 6-5 in the Last 32, Paddy Meaney and Devon Peterson in the early rounds before losing to Vincent van der Voort in a last leg decider 6-5.
