PDC World Cup Venue and Information

The 2012 PDC World Cup will take place at the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany

The first PDC World Cup which was held in England was won by the Dutch team of Raymond van Barnaveld & Co Stompe.

The event will commence on Friday 3rd February 2012 Times as follows:

FRIDAY 3rd February 13.00 – 17.00 & 19.00 – 23.00

SATURDAY 4th February 1330-1730 & 1900-2300

SUNDAY 5th February 1400-1730 & 1900-2230

The event will comprise of 24 teams, the criteria is:

24 nations represented by two man teams.

The 24 competing nations will be formed of the top two ranked full PDPA members from each nation on the PDC’s Order of Merit as of January 3rd 2012.

In the event that this does not produce 24 competing nations, further nations which have two players featured on the PDC’s Order of Merit who are not full PDPA members shall be included.

In the event that this still does not produce 24 competing nations, further nations will be invited to participate at the discretion of the PDC’s Board of Directors.

Nations will be seeded 1 – 24 for the event based on the cumulative total of their players’ position on the PDC’s Order of Merit with the lowest total nation seeded 1 and highest total nation seeded 24 (i.e. if a nation has players ranked 17 and 57 its cumulative total is 74).

Note: a player must have won money in a PDC ranked event in either 2010 or 2011 to constitute having a position on the PDC’s Order of Merit. Participation in an event or events without money having been won shall not be deemed sufficient.

Format:

The final format will be announced shortly but the countries ranked 9 – 24 shall play on Friday afternoon with the top eight nations (seeds) entering the tournament at the next stage.

The format shall comprise a mixture of singles and doubles matches in a straight knock-out format.
