Phil Taylor hits another 9 dart leg, and a record 120.64 average against Mervyn King this one in Championship League Darts Finals ‘DAY 9′ from Crondon Park Golf Club

It is the second of this years event following Simon Whitlocks feat in the group stages.

Taylor headed the group, with King in second and Nicholson third but the race for fourth was the one to follow.

4 players had a chance but it was Beaton who had lost his first 4 games got in on a decider.

The eight qualifiers will battle it out for the coverted crown, and for 3 players a possible Grand Slam of darts place later this year.

Dennis Priestley was the last qualifier with the Day 8 win yesterday when he beat Kevin Painter in the final to win the last place.

He will be joined by Gary Anderson who won through on Day 1, Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor the Day 2 qualifier. He was followed by Aussie Paul Nicholson Day 3, Mark Walsh Day 4, Mervyn King Day 5, Simon Whitlock Day 6 and Steve Beaton who got through earlier this week Day 7.

Play will commence at 10.30am with a round robin format, all players will play each other in a best of 11 encounter earning £100 for every leg they win. the top 4 players after the round robin phase will play each other in the Semi-Finals where in this phase players will earn £200 per leg won again in a best of 11 leg match, folllowed by the final.

Championship League Darts is screened solely on the internet through LIVEPDC.TV and a series of 30 bookmakers’ websites worldwide, and offers a potential total prize fund of over £200,000, plus places in the Grand Slam of Darts for the eventual finalists.

Played over nine days from September 27-29, October 11-13 and October 18-20, the event offers £50 per leg won prize money in the league phase and £100 per leg won in each group’s Play-Offs, with prize money doubled in the Winners Group.

The bottom two players on the merit table after each day will be relegeted and take no further part in the event. All other players i.e. the runner-up, the two losing semi finalists and the players placed 5th & 6th will all return the next qualifying day along with the next 3 players on the invitational list based on the PDC OoM.

In 2010 James Wade emerged as the Champion with a scintilating performance to edge out Phil Taylor in the final.
