Taylor Supreme as he hands out a Wade message

Phil Taylor answered all his critics with a power-esc display against James Wade to win another World Matchplay Title 18-8. He retains his only major in style with a convincing win gainst the aldershot ace, Taylor who was odds on favorite never looked in trouble from the start. The first 4 legs were shared, until Taylor pounced on a Wade error to gain the first break of throw before the first interval. From that moment Wade was chasing ‘The Power’ but never looked in the race, at 8-2 down after the second break it was looking ominous for Wade and only short bursts of his recent form kept him in the game longer. Double top sealed a 12th title and the retainment of his World Matchplay crown.  Taylors average of 103.84 was his 5th 100 average+ in the whole event. Wade with just under a 100 shows Taylors dominance in this one of his favorite events. Wade outscored Taylor on the 140s and 180s but it was the doubles and 100+scores which made the difference.
